The Chairman of the subcommittee on development of tourism, resorts and recreational activity Ivan Bushko said that the competition has shown a high level of excellence of the participants. According to him, more than 120 young sportsmen aged 14-15, as well as children below 13 from all parts of Transcarpathian region participated in the competition.
People’s deputy stressed that Transcarpathian region is gradually returning to the tradition of bringing up professional sportsmen, including that of winter sports. He said that a sports boarding school was opened in Velykobereznianskuy region previous year, and a similar school is planned to be opened in the village of Pylypets, Mezhyhirsk region, where the Olympics have taken place.
I.Bushko said also that such-like events “bring a serious impetus to training local sportsmen, who, not excluded, will participate in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games for the right to host which Ukraine is competing”.
The Committee informed that winners and prize-winners of the Olympics will join the All-Ukrainian Spartak sports society, which is to represent Transcarpathian region during the 10th All-Ukrainian Olympics “Young Spartacist”.
